Henri Roux

I started teaching drums back in 2017 -
at that stage each student received their lesson on what they had available at their home.

Some had a full drum kit with extra cymbals and accessories while others had a pair of sticks and a couch!

It was my job to use what I had and to make sure the student fully understood every technique they learned and how to apply it to music and on the drum kit.

Why teach drums for a living?

Since 2010 my passion for drumming have not stop growing and the hunger for more and to be a better musician only gets more by the day!
I have some musical experience behind both the piano and electric guitar, but the drums is the one that has me chasing more.

That is why I teach.
To guide my students towards that same feeling of accomplishment - that one fill or one beat that kept bringing them down and then to see them play it with their eyes closed, not rattled by the thoughts of making a mistake.

College Of Performing Arts, Trinity College London & UNISA

My parents gave me the opportunity to study Music Performance, majoring in drums, at COPA in Pretoria, South Africa.

This was in 2016 and the place where my experience in the music scene took off! Within the first quarter of the year my friends and I formed a band playing everywhere - from old-school metal at a biker's club to smooth-jazz at a Morrocan themed restaurant.

Currently I am busy climbing the ladder with the University of South Africa's Music Theory Grades - this year writing grade 4 out of 5 (for now). As well as playing my final grade in the Trinity College London, Rock and Pop Grade 8 practical, at the end of the year.
